Justice Sunday – 06.21.2009

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) is an independent human rights organization which promotes economic justice, environmental justice, civil liberties & human rights during humanitarian crises. In 2004, the UUSC initiated Justice Sunday, a special day when UU congregations can stand together on one pressing human rights issue. This year the UUSC is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights, so each congregation was given the opportunity to select one area of human rights which the UUSC promotes for the Justice Sunday topic. TJ has selected economic justice as our topic. When people do not have sufficient access to income, tools, opportunity and ability to accumulate assets, their fundamental right to work and earn a livelihood is threatened. Join us to learn more about worker’s rights and what you can do to support these rights, both locally & nationally.

For guidance, I turn to the people whose music inspired me to make that big promise in the first place: The Rolling Stones.
